Care Instructions - Metal Products

01. Necessary notices

Please read the instructions carefully and take the necessary precautions, as improper handling may result in injury to customers or property damage.

<Stainless Steel-Plated Products (including silver-plated products)>

To ensure safe, long-lasting use, please note the following:

  • Please do not use this product for any purpose other than dining.
  • Please keep this product out of the reach of infants (children).
  • Handle with care to avoid injury from the blade or sharp edges of forks.
  • Metal utensils must not be used in a microwave.
  • Do not use knives or forks as skewers, and do not heat them together with food in a microwave or over an open flame.
  • Please note that if the product is left or stored with dirt or salt residue on it, it may rust.
  • Products prone to rusting should not be left or stored in contact with other products for extended periods. Rust can transfer onto stainless steel or cause the stainless steel itself to rust.
  • Please store plated products in a dry place, away from moisture.
  • Also, please be careful, as plated components are quite soft and may be scratched if stored together with metal utensils made of other materials.

Please note the following:

  • Unplated stainless steel products can be used in a household dishwasher. Please read the appliance’s instruction manual carefully and use the product correctly.
  • Please avoid using a household dishwasher for products displayed on plates. Wash them by hand instead. Even when hand washing, using alkaline detergents may damage the surface.
  • Please do not use metal scouring pads, hard sponges (abrasive pads), or cleansers (containing hard abrasives such as cinnamon powder), as these will cause scratching.
  • After use, wash immediately with a soft cloth or sponge, mild detergent, and warm water, then rinse thoroughly with clean warm water.
  • Wipe thoroughly with a lint-free cloth before water droplets dry. If water droplets are left to dry, they will be harder to wipe clean. After washing, dry completely and store in a low-humidity location.
  • When wiping with a dry cloth, please do not rub too hard.

[Regarding silver-plated products]
Silver will tarnish and turn black when it reacts with sulfur in the air. For long-term storage and to preserve maximum shine, wrap the item completely in polyethylene bags or oiled paper, store it in a box, and minimize direct exposure to air.

When storing the product, avoid prolonged contact with rubber products such as rubber bands or polyvinyl chloride products, as this may cause discoloration.

If the surface becomes tarnished (due to a chemical reaction between silver and trace amounts of sulfide), apply a specialized silver polishing solution to a soft cloth and gently, carefully polish the surface.

[Note] Do not use chlorine bleach, as it will cause discoloration to black.

[Regarding products with porcelain handles]
Please handle with care, as excessive force may chip or break the handle.
Please be extremely careful when touching cracked or chipped parts of the handle, as this may cause injury.

<Transparent Silver-Plated Products, Light-Treated (Partial Gold Plating)>

■ Characteristics of transparent, light-treated silver-plated products:
A premium transparent acrylic coating is applied over the surface of the silver-plated product. This prevents discoloration and wear of the silver while maintaining its shine, allowing you to enjoy its sparkling beauty with simple maintenance.

To ensure safe, long-lasting use, please note the following:

  • Please do not use this product for any purpose other than its intended use (as tableware).
  • Metal utensils are not suitable for microwave use. Do not use them to cook food over an open flame.
  • Afternoon tea stands can be conveniently folded, but please be careful not to injure your hands or fingers when opening or closing the stand.
  • Metal kettles, which conduct heat well, become very hot when containing boiling water. Please use heat-resistant gloves or similar protective items to avoid burns.
  • Please be careful, as strong impacts may deform the product, preventing the lid from closing properly or making it difficult to fold, rendering the product unusable.

Please note the following:

  • Please avoid using a household dishwasher for transparent silver-plated products with a glossy surface. Wash by hand instead.
  • Silver-plated products may be damaged if cleaned with alkaline detergents. Please avoid using them even on products with a Clearlight coating.
  • Note: Silver-plated products will tarnish and turn black if chlorine-based bleach is used. Do not use bleach on silver-plated products, even those with a thin transparent coating.

Please note the following:

  • Silver-plated Clear Light products should be stored in a dry, low-humidity location.
  • Also, please note that the Clear Light coating is soft and may be scratched if placed together with metal utensils made of other materials.
  • The transparent surface coating (the acrylic resin portion) may become discolored if the silver plating underneath is exposed due to scratching or peeling.
  • If the surface turns black, apply a small amount of specialized silver polishing solution to a soft cloth and gently, carefully polish the surface.
